Native American jewelry is known for its handmade designs in sterling silver, often set with turquoise, coral, and other local gems. Navajo jewelry often features large, chunky gems bezel-set in sterling silver. Turquoise, coral, onyx, and other local gems were commonly used in Navajo jewelry.
This magnificent, handmade bolo tie was handcrafted by Navajo artist, Joe Barela in sterling silver. It measures 87 x 66mm overall and is hammer-set with natural turquoise and red coral. The reverse is hand-signed, "By Joe Barela Sterling Silver".
