Asteriated diamonds are extremely rare, fascinating diamonds that are sought after by collectors for their unique appearance. They contain hydrogen cloud inclusions that can resemble starbursts, triangles, or other interesting patterns.
This extremely rare and unusual, natural fancy gray asteriated diamond weighs 0.11 carat. It measures 6.85 x 5.13 x 0.39mm and contains a gorgeous hydrogen cloud inclusion radiating out from its center.
Famous Asteriated Diamond
The "Rhodesian Star" is a famous asteriated diamond weighing 3.70 carats that was graded as fancy brownish greenish yellow by GIA. The unusual diamond contains an incredible stellate hydrogen cloud inclusion in the shape of a six-legged star. This three-dimensional, six-legged star fluoresces bright green under long-wave ultraviolet light.
