This beautiful antique brooch, from the Art Nouveau Era (circa 1895-1910) features a hand-carved queen conch shell cameo accented by natural seed pearls and lab created sapphires, in 10 karat gold.
The queen conch shell cameo was meticulously carved by hand. It has a very attractive, soft pink hue, and measures approximately 13.50 x 10.00mm. The reverse side of the cameo appears to be signed by the artist, but we cannot make out the signature.
The brooch is also set with fourteen (14) natural seed pearls, two of which are half-drilled.
There are also two (2) lab created sapphires set on either side of the cameo. They have some small chipped areas that are only noticeable under magnification.
Please note the small foliate details have a textured finish that was also done by hand.
Overall measurements are 62 x 14mm.
The brooch is fastened by a pin with an early handmade safety catch.
The brooch is hallmarked "10K".
Gross weight of the brooch is 4.2 grams.
