Trapiche rubies are a rare variety of ruby named after a six-spoked cogwheel used in sugar cane mills (trapiche de cańa azucar in Spanish).
They often have sharp, hexagonal growth lines that create a fixed, 6-ray star. Trapiche rubies are currently found in only 2 locations on earth: the Mong Hsu region of Myanmar (Burma), and India.
This 1-of-a-kind 18K white gold necklace features a 14.95 carat natural trapiche ruby framed by diamonds. Accompanied by GIA Ruby Origin Report.
