ABOUT THE ITEM
Among the rarest and most exotic natural gems on Earth, melo melo pearls are the ultimate collector’s treasure.

Formed within the Melo melo marine snail (also known as the Indian Volute or zebra snail), these natural pearls are found only in the warm, shallow waters of Southeast Asia, including Myanmar, Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam, Malaysia, and the Philippines.  Unlike cultured pearls, melo melo pearls are non-nacreous, displaying a porcelaneous luster rather than the iridescence of nacre.

Their most desirable feature?  The elusive flame structure—a mesmerizing, silk-like pattern that shimmers across the surface, caused by chatoyancy.  The finest specimens exhibit a deep mandarin orange hue with strong flame effect visible to the naked eye.

Due to the rarity of these pearls, most collectors will go a lifetime without even seeing one in person, let alone owning one.

This stunning natural melo melo pearl weighs 25.77 carats and boasts a beautifully balanced drop shape, ideal for a custom pendant or signature necklace design.  Its visible flame patterning enhances its visual intrigue and rarity.

Accompanied by GIA Pearl Report No. 6227012249, confirming its natural origin and authenticity.

A true statement gem—rare, exotic, and unapologetically bold.
