This fine quality, antique, Victorian era brooch by German jewelry designers, Knoll & Pregizer, features very brilliant old mine cut paste (faceted glass) set in a handcrafted sterling silver setting.
The piece is set with forty-nine (49) pieces of French paste faceted into extremely brilliant old mine cuts! These old miners graduate in size from 1.3mm to 2.7mm.
The silver bow has developed a rich, dark patina that has been left uninterrupted. Please notice the subtle, delicate millegrain detailing.
The brooch is fastened by a handmade C-catch and round hinge with a pin that extends beyond the edge of the brooch. This is typical of brooches made during the Victorian era.
The reverse is signed and hallmarked, "Sterling Germany KP".
