ABOUT THE ITEM
Native American jewelry is known for its handmade designs in sterling silver, often set with turquoise, coral, and other local gems. Navajo, Zuni, and Hopi are the three main tribes responsible for producing some of the most beautiful, creative and exciting sterling silver jewelry in American history.
Navajo jewelry is known for large, chunky gems bezel-set in sterling silver. Turquoise, coral, onyx, and other local gems were commonly used in Navajo jewelry.
This vintage, Native American eagle necklace was handmade by Navajo artisan, Jimmie Patterson. The swooping eagle is set with a crushed turquoise and red coral mosaic. The eagle measures 3.5" x 2.5". The necklace measures 22.5 inches long and is fastened by a handmade hook clasp. The reverse side of the eagle pendant is stamped with a "P" maker's mark, attributed to Jimmie Patterson.
Please Note: Several of the 8mm sterling silver beads have separated seams.
